About the Artist
Betka’s journey began at the Art College in Warsaw where she studied graphic design. After a start in advertising, she became captivated by the changing world around her in the early 90s, leading her to earn a Master’s in Sociology and Social Politics from the University of Warsaw.
Her travels eventually took her across two continents and several countries before she settled in Cambridge, UK, in 2015. Today, you can find her working from her studio at Unit 13. As a self-taught ceramic artist, she finds magic in the patient, often surprising transformation of raw earth into finished art.
While she started out crafting functional items like plates and bowls, her time in Cambridge has seen her move into the world of sculpture. Drawing inspiration from quiet moments in nature and trips to the coast, her work explores the textures and colors of the world around us. Her goal is simple: to create pieces that spark curiosity and bring a little extra joy to your home.
Betka has exhibited her work in cities like London, Zurich, Bristol, and Cambridge. Her pieces are cherished in private collections worldwide, from the USA and Switzerland to Australia and Hong Kong.
