Betka Milligan is a passionate ceramicist operating out of her studio in Cambridge, UK. Finding her creative spark in the complex patterns of the natural world, she produces handcrafted vessels that balance technical mastery with profound artistic sensitivity. Following her studies in graphic design at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts, Betka began her professional path in the advertising industry. The transformative socio-political shifts of the 1990s eventually inspired her to obtain a Master’s degree in sociology and social policy from the University of Warsaw. After exploring various cultures across two continents, she made Cambridge her home in 2015, currently practicing her craft at Unit13. A largely self-guided artist, she is continually fascinated by the mystical process of molding soil into sophisticated sculpture.
While her foundational work emphasized utilitarian stoneware such as plates and bowls, her relocation to Cambridge triggered an evolution toward more abstract, sculptural aesthetics. By engaging deeply with the environment, Betka draws influence from the rugged coastlines and serene pastoral landscapes she frequents. Her ceramics function as sensory investigations into biological forms, earthy palettes, and mossy textures. Through her artistic labor, Betka aims to infuse your home with a spirit of wonder, encouraging an appreciation for the subtle elegance inherent in daily life.
